MALTEPOOS aka MALTESE/MINIATURE POODLE HYBRIDS:

There are many spellings of the breed name for this adorable little dog which include: Maltepoo, Maltipoo, Maltapoo, Moodles, Malt-oodles, etc.

The deliberate cross breeding of the Maltese and Miniature Poodle creates a wonderful new hybrid known as the Maltepoo. This hybrid produces puppies that naturally exhibit behavioral characteristics similar to the parent breeds. This generally results in a dog that is playful and very energetic. Maltepoos are gentle, extremely intelligent, eager to please, easily trainable, and very loyal to their human families. The Maltepoo is a natural family dog and tend to love everyone they meet. They are also great with kids yet are an excellent choice for a retired person.

Maltepoos can be found in a variety of colors. Their coat is soft and fluffy with a slight wave to curl. Because they are a cross, the coat can have different textures according to which dominant gene the puppy draws. Maltepoos are considered non-shedding and hypoallergenic and tend to be a good choice for individuals with allergies. Maltepoos generally weigh 8-12 lbs full grown.

Our puppies are true 1st generation Maltepoos bred from purebred, genetically sound, healthy Miniature Poodles and Maltese. Our Miniature Poodles and Maltese are all excellent examples of their particular breed and our quality and consistency shows.

A hybrid dog such as a Maltepoo cannot be registered with the AKC. Our Maltepoos have purebred parents of their breed. The mixes from purebred parents of different breeds has become very popular due to the outstanding health of the puppies if they are bred from healthy lines in the first place. Hybrid Vigor is a term that is used when you breed two purebreds of different breeds, the offspring are exceptionally healthy and first generation offspring from two purebred parents of different breeds don't carry the genetic problems common to that particular breed. Any genetic problems would start showing up in 2nd generation and beyond or if the original parents are mixes themselves.

Our Maltese Stud, Kack's Magick Dragon Zack, sire to all Maltepoo puppies here at Kack's Saints.  Zack is a gorgeous boy and definitely the most mischievous of my dogs:)

His endearing personality and eager to please attitude will keep him as the sole stud for as long as he chooses to do what he does best:)

Our foundation Miniature Poodle bitch, Kack's Magick Dragon Cassie. She has produced several outstanding litters for us and is the mother to the Maltepoo puppies shown at the top of this page.

She is currently bred to Zack and due the first week of April 2010. She will be bred to a Café au late registered miniature poodle male prior to her retirement planned in 2013 at age 8.

She is an excellent mother and along with raising her own pups, she has helped a few of our other inexperienced moms as well:)

Kack's Magick Black Onyx produced one litter of gorgeous registered miniature poodle puppies for her previous owner whom had to reluctantly re-home all of her dogs due to her failing health. Her first litter of Maltepoo puppies in 2009 were absolutely stunning! She will be retired by the age of 8 in 2011.

Kack's Secret Hideaway and her sister (below) are the newest additions here at Kack's Saints. We are very excited to add the color variety into our Maltepoos and can't wait to see what this girl produces. She is a very outgoing and happy go lucky girl. She is always bouncing around with her tail going like crazy. Her personality is very much like our foundation poodle bitch, Cassie, who has stolen everyone's heart.

Kack's Lily of the Valley and her sister (above) are the newest additions here at Kack's Saints. We are very excited to add the color variety into our Maltepoos and can't wait to see what this girl produces. She is very quiet and calm. She is also a little bit shy, but very sweet indeed!
